MAPS founder Steve Forbes awarded SSSI Professional of the Year 2015
As many of you would know by now, our very own Steve Forbes was awarded SSSI Professional of the Year 2015 at Locate 2015 in Brisbane.
This is the most prestigious of the SSSI annual Australasian Awards and follows on from Steve’s award of SSSI ACT Professional of the Year. On behalf of the MAPS Supervisors, I congratulate Steve and extend our thanks to SSSI for this recognition, not only of Steve, but of all the spatial professionals who work in Emergency Management. This award is even more special given the quality of the field for the awards this year. I personally know two of the three other candidates and they are both exceptional people who have made outstanding contributions to the spatial sciences.
Attached is a copy of the citation for Steve’s ACT award which then followed through to the Australasian Awards.
